“Bafta Film Awards” rikthehen me kapacitet të plotë pas përshtatjeve të ceremonisë për shkak të pandemisë. Vitin e kaluar ceremonia u realizua përmes Zoom mes kufizimeve të rrepta të Covid-19.
Por emrat e mëdhenj janë rikthyer në Royal Albert Hall për shfaqjen që mbahet sot, të drejtuar nga aktorja Rebel Wilson. Saga fantastiko-shkencore “Dune” kryeson nominimet, e ndjekur nga westerni “The Power of the Dog” dhe “Belfast”.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Lady Gaga, Daniel Kaluuya, Emma Watson, Regé Jean-Page, Tom Hiddleston dhe Millie Bobby Brown janë ndër të famshmit që pritet të marrin pjesë.
Filmat me më së shumti nominime: Dune me 11, The Powr of the Dog me 8, Belfast me 6, Licorice Pizza, No Time to Die dhe West Side Story me 5.
Të nominuarat për aktoren më të mirë janë Lady Gaga për House of Guçi, Alana Haim, Tessa Thompson për Passing dhe Emilia Jones për Coda.
Çmimet “Bafta” zhvillohen në të njëjtën ditë me ” Critics’ Choice Awards” në Los Angeles. Yjet që janë nominuar në të dyja këto ngjarje u është dashur të zgjedhin se në cilën ceremoni do të marrin pjesë. Dame Shirley Bassey do të hapë ceremoninë me një performancë nga James Bond, dhe Emilia Jones do të interpretojë Both Sides Now të Joni Mitchell, të cilën ajo e këndoi gjithashtu në Coda.
Pritet që ceremonia të prekë edhe konfliktin aktual në Ukrainë. Në “Screen Actors Guild Awards” që u mbajt dy javë më parë, aktorët si Brian Cox dhe Jessica Chastain dërguan mesazhe mbështetjeje për popullin e Ukrainës nga podiumi.
