Presidenti i Republikës, Ilir Meta mbështet shqetësimet e ambientalistëve për shkatërrimin e lumit Vjosa, një nga lumenjtë e fundit të egër në Evropë.

Kreu i Shtetit ka rishpërndarë videon e aktorit të famshëm hollivudian, Leonardo Di Caprio për këtë lumë, mbi të cilin janë planifikuar të ndërtohen shumë diga.

Shqetësimet për shkatërrimin e këtij lumi janë ngritur prej vitesh jo vetëm në opinionin vendas por edhe atë ndërkombëtar.

Lumi Vjosa rrjedh i patrazuar nga burimi i tij në male, deri në detin Adriatik. Është lumi i fundit i “egër” i kësaj madhësie në Evropë. Nga e gjithë gjatësia e tij prej 270 kilometrash, Vjosa ka rrjedhje të lirë si lumë “i pazbutur” sidomos në 190 km e rrjedhës në territorin shqiptar. Ekzistojnë plane që kërkojnë ta shndërrojnë Vjosën në një zinxhir digash.
